House and Senate Agree On Marshall Aid
WASIITN G-TON, April 14. The House^ and Senate approved a compromise worked out by tiie House and Senate foreign affairs leaders to authorise 5,430,000,000 dollars for the extension of the Marshall L'lan and an additional 150,000,000 dollars as a guarantee to Ainerican investcws in .Marshall Plan projects. Senator Tom Connallv, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Commit tee, said the legislation 's passage repre sented both generositv and far-reaching vision. It would have a terrihe impaet in the cause of peace and help rebuild and strengthen the free Governments of Europe. "
