WELLINGTON, April 13. The Registrar of the Court of Arbitration, Mr. R. Lumsden^ toflay made the following announceoient of interest to all unions. "Under Regulation 39 C of the Economic Stabilisation Regulations, the Court is empowered, of its own motion, to amend awards and agreements for the purpose of giving effect to its pronouncement. It may also aet upon application made in that behalf by any party to any award or agreement. The Court has already amended the furni ture trade employees' award whieh was the 'subjeet of one of the applieations for the pronouncement. After the Easter vacation the Court will proeeed of its own motion to amend many other awards and agreements. If in any particular case the Court considers that some aetion by the parties is desirable, an announcement will be made at a later date." Tt is imderstood that approximatelv 580 awards and agreements are affected.
