WESTERN GERMANY TO RETAIN MORE FACTORIES
Received Thursday, 10.30 a.m. WASH1NGTON, April 13. The United States. Britain and Erinlee announeed a shaip reductiiiH in the number oi iactories to be removed ironi Western Germany. All or pari oi 159 plants are to be removed froni the reparations list previousiy agreed upon. The equipment whien is to be retained in Germany is located in 32 piaiits in the steel industry, 88 motai working plants. 32 chemical ulants and seven plants in the nonierrous metal industnes. Five oi the steel industry plants produce erude steel and these will raise Wistern Germaiiy's steelmaking eapaciiy by 165,000 tons annually. That* v;ih give Western Germany a t mai capacity of about 13 465,000 tons ycarly. The production ceiling ui 11,100,000 tons ani.naily remains.
