State Dearer Than Private Insurance Companies
AUCKLAND, April 11. Quotations refieived by the Auckland Transport Board for its publie risic poliey covering 239 vehicles show that the State Fire Cftice could not eompete with two private companies. The' State Ofiice quotation, which eaine before today 's board meeting quoted £1 with a deduction of 124 per cent. bonus. The total cost with the State Cffice for the coverage was £2(51 8s 3d, and with the bonus the cost •with the companies was £215 2s. It was also .reported that whereas the State Cffice applied a limit of £56,000 indemnifieatioh in oue • year, the companies had no maximum. The poliey at present with the State Cffice covered claims in excess of £3000 up to £14,000 for any oue accident. The quotations were referred to the manager with power to act. '
