AUCKLAND, April 12. A decision to refuse to hold 4 secret bailo.t oh the que8tion Of resuming ndrmal work, wa^ made at the monthly m'eeting of the deregistered section of the Auckland Carpenters' ancl Joiners ' Union tonight. - This means that; in aeordance with the ultinjatum he isslied last week; the Minister of Lahonr, Mr. MeLagan, Will be obliged to pave the wfly for the registration of the nbw union under the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Aet. About 200 members of the union who attended the meeting, rejeeted the ultimatum unanimously amid loud cheers. Organisers of the breakaway union announced later that they would proceed immediately to have their organisation registered through the Minister.
