Received Wed., i.0.20 a.rri. LONDON, April 12. The number of striking Lon don dock workers. has how grown to over 14,000, and work has completely or.partly itopped oii 74 Ships. The National Dock Labour Board says that the stTike. which is being exploited by the Cdhlmunists, thfeateris the lation's welfare and stability. The Minister of Labour, Mr. George Isaacs; said iri the House df Commons this afternoon that the strike was a ihallenge to authoritv, ano was undoubtedly inspired by lotives hostile to the best interests of the .dockers and the lubiic. He had invited the dockers' fepresentatives to meet him. The dockers struck yesteriay as a protest against the iismissal of 33 men because jobs could not be found for them. A leaflet issued by the Transport and General Workers' Union,e declaring that the strike is unwarranted, says ;hat three oi' the 33 men over whom the strike began are over 80 years of age, 20 are 70 or over and four are 60 or over.
