On Saturday afternoon four rinks from the Shannon Bowling Club journeyed to Levin, where they were defeated by 71 points to 87. Bateman beat ;Hill 27— 13, Hook lost to Wenham 16—18, F.Pieard lost to Kilsby 17 — 28. Accident On Main Road. While travelling from Buckley to Shannon on his horse on Friday evening, Mr. Jack Morgan was struck by a truck travelling north along the main road, about, two miles from Shannon. The driver of the truck, Mr. A. Gillespie, of Opiki, was dazzled by thp lights of an oncoming car and failed to see Mr. Morgan. After receiving medical attention from Dr. Collier at Shannon, Mr. Morgan was taken to the Palmerston North Hospital by ambulance for observation. Word was received yesterday that Mr. Morgan, who was suffering from concussion, is now progressing ,f avourably. '
