Mother And Son Found Shoi Dead

NEW PLYMOUTH, April 11. A mother and her son wer-e found dead from gunshot wounds on a farm at NewelJ Road, Okato, iate this afternoon, They w.ere MRS. EDITH ALEXANDRA BRADBURY, aged about 45 years. ' IAN McINNESS BRADBURY, aged 21 years. They were the wife and son of Mr. Hugh Mclnness Bra.dbury, a well-known farmer of the district. I11 response to a telephone eall, Superintendent D. J. M. Hewjt-t, Senior Detective E. O. Jarrold and i party of police, accompanie'd by the police ^surgeon, Dr. N. W'. Rpbson, went to the scene o-f the iragedy. The body of Mrs. Bradbury w.as iti the kitchen where she had been shot while peeJing potatoes. _ The body of the son was found, in the shed. .A.shotgun was nearby. Mr. Bradbury. left the house gt about 3.30 p.m to bring in the cows for milking. After he had begun milking he thougbt it strange that his wife and son had not come to assist and went to the house where he discovered the tragedy. Inquiries by the police are eontinuing.
