AUCKLAXD, April 6. Reference to the loss of life in the hospital fire in Efifingham, Illinois, wa^ made todav at the conferejice in Auck land of the Institution of Fire Engin eers. It was dec.ided to send a massage of sympathv with the victims througb some appropriate fire-prevention organ isation in the United States. "The tragic affair in America should lend a great deal of support to what has already been said at this conference about the need for greater protection against fire," said the px-esident, Alr. J. j Pliilp, of Invercargill.
