Two Seamen Charged With Murder

WELLINGTON, April 5. Jointly charged with the murder of Allee Meah at Port Adelaide, Australia, on December 8, Solomone Lui Pope, a Tongan, aged 24, ship 's quartermaste?, and Telupe Ramuera, an Ellice I^lander, aged 36, ship's donkeyman, appeared in the Magistrate 's- Court this afternoon. On the application of the poliee accused were remanded until Friday. Replying to the Magistrate, both accused said they understood what was said about them when the charge was read. Accused had been arrested earlier today by Detective B. Harvey, of Adelaide on the ship Lautoka which arrived' at Wellington from Adelaide on Sunday. Detective Harvey, who flew to New Zealand, has b«en engaged on inquiries sinee the arrival of the Lautoka.-
