CLOSER NAVAL COOPERATION
Received Tuesday, 7 p.m. LONDON, April 5. The signing of the Atlantic Pact will be quicklv followed by closer liaison befwuen tlie British and United ►States navies, according to the Daily Tele-
jgraph's naval eorrespondent. It is possible, he says, that large scale com bined operations may take place in the Atlantic later this year. He points out that there is alreadv considerable cooperation between the two navies, particularly in ihe Mediterra'nean where, since the end of the war, the British fteet based on Malta has been working with the United States Sixth Task Fleer which is primarily a training foree. There is no reason, he adds, why cooperation between the British and American navies could not be 100 per cent. efiicient very quickly. The systems of coinmunieation, largely unified during the war, differ only in detail.
