More Members Wanted By Boxing Club
"It is with some diffidence I report that the club has experienced a very indifferent year," commented the president of the Levin Amateur Boxing Club, Mr. J. W. iRimmer, at the meeting on Monday. "The statement of accounts shows a very serious lapse on the year's working, and' I would ask chat more members show some interest and enthusiasm in the club's affairs.'' Although a loss^of £39/2/10 was disclosed in the balance sheet, it was not as bad as it looked, saidthe secretary, Mr. W. C. Childs. The accounts included one for trophy buttons, which cost £17/19/-, and which were still on hand. There was also depreciation of £16 to_be taken into account. There was a big difference in the membership, -ie continued. This was mainly in the senior section, where the subscriptions had only realised £1/17/6. The previous year programme advertising had returned £25/4/-, but none had been received last year. Admission charges were down by £15. The balance-sheet indicated that .che club had' £93/9/11 in hand, and it was decided to endeavour to increase the membership in every way possible.
