Gisborne Wants Overseas Ships Back Again

GISBORNE, April 4. The biggest bid yet by Gisborne to secure the restoration of roadstead loading of overseas ships, will be made this week when a representative depu tation Will visit Wellington to seek furtlier support of the Prime Minister (Mr. Fraser) and interview the overseas shipowners' al'lotment committee. The decision was made at a representative meeting late today, convened by the Cham.ber of Commerce and attended by delegates from practieally every organisation in the distriet. In deciding' to present Gisborne 's case to Mr. Fraser", delegates hoped- the Prime Minister will again submit'argu* ments for the restoration of roadstead loading to head offices of shipping lirms on his visit to London later this month. The deputation . will c.onsist of representatives of the Bomuglv Couju cil, Harbour Board, Trades and Labour Couhcil, Federated I'arniers, Chamber of Commerce, shipping and meat inlerests. Mr. D. W.
