' i Hutt Vall'ey declared its second innings closed with eight wickets down for 235, leaving Poverty Bay with 305 mmutes in which to get 222 runs for an outright win or to play out time and win on the first innings. However, C. A. Muir, Hutt Valley 's outstanding bowler iu the first innings, was again in devastating form, taldng five wickets for 22 runs off 24.5 overs". His figures' for the match were 64.5 overs, 37 maidens, 55 runs, 9 wickets. Poverty Bay were all out after batting for 190 minutes. Scores:— Hutt Valley, 192 and 235 for eightwickets declared (D.
