"It has come to mv notice that statements are being made by persons connected with the de-registered Auckland branch of the Carpenters' Union to the effect that the Government has given a solemn undertaking that no new union will be granted registration under the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, in repsect of the 56mile radius from the Cliief Post Offiee, 'Auckland," said the Minister of Labour (Mr. McLagan.) "I uhclerstand it had also been suggested that Mr. Stanley, secretary of the New Zealand Carpenters' and Joiners' Union, is at present in Wellington, arranging for re-registration of the Auckland branch. Both statements are entirely incorrect. "
