R._ Jack .in ptoposing a Vbte of tfiank's tb the chief, Mr. j. R. Macfarlane, and the secretary, Mr. J. A. Goodwin. One of the ! highlights of the_ year had been -the band cohtelt field in Levlh under the auspices of the society-s pipe band. He complimented thole TesporiSiblb for the WonderfUl organisation which .had- bee'h apparent throughout the: coptest. In his ferhar'ks, Mr.- Jack also ipaid tribute to tfie ^ Caledbhian marching team,-_ commeriting that there was no other." tedm in . N&W Zealand which had- bee'n awarded so many trophies and . medafS. Tnis success was, he. felt, due to tfie i Work' bf tfie chief , Mr. Macfarlane, who was the team's instructor. Mr. Macfarlane had been commende'd aJ over New Zealand fdr fiis efforts, not only as the team's i instructor but also as the chibf ! instructor to' the Manawatu centre. He complimented the band on its success at the contest, adding that the_ society was prospering arid exprelsing a hope that more suecesses Were ahead of it.
