Two Killed When Struck By Railcar

NAPIER, March 31. , Struck by a railcar on a bend eight miles north Napier on the Wairoa line this morning, a Maori surfacemah was killed instantlv. A second Maori received severe injuries from which he died in the Napier Hospital this afternoOn. They were: — MR. WILLIAM JOHNSON, married, aged 31 years, of Wairoa. MR. BELL KEEFE, single, agad 35 years, of Raupunga. Both men were employed as railway surfacemen and were Walking alOng the railway line to work when they were overtaken on the bend by the railcar. Mr. Johnson was carried nearly 150 feet. Mr. Keefe was throWn lown an embankment.
