Corso's Annual Street Day Raised £160
The public of the town and district again responded-generously on the occasion of the recent street appeal conducted by the Levin Frovinc'al Committee of Corso, and the gratifying! sum of £160 4s 8d was raised. All those who were privileged to hear the address given recently in Levin by the Dominion Organiser of United Nations Orgariisation in New Zealand, Mr. L. H. D. Gordon, must have realised that although Corso is only one small section of tnat vast organisation, giving through. it is a practical way in which the people of New Zealand can assist in bringing hope ' and giving help to the stricken« peoples of Europe and Asia. On Friday, the pebpie of Levin and district gave most generously and further offers of help to the committee were most heartening. -Thei manner in* which the young 'women of the town offered their help was' most gratifying.
