Store Larabs Command Keen Interest • Store lambs commanded most interest at the Feilding live stock sale yesterday wkile mated ewes also attracted interest and generally the market was lirni with a hardening tendency for well grown lambs. Fat sheep values remained steady with an upward trend for meaty ewes. Station cattle business was confined to select^d pens with the enquiry a little stronger. Principal sale was a pen of grown bullocks with some contlition at £19.. Fat Sheep There was little movement in fat sheep prices despite a smaller offering. Wether 'mutton was traded at late rates while good meaty ewes were inclined to move up and heavy lambs were selling at higher rates. The realisations on 276 head were: Down cross 2-ths: 14 at 41s lOd; 8 at 37s 10; lambs: 10 at 32sj 3 at 32s 4d; 15 at 40s; 13 'at 41s 4d; 9 at 35s; 5 at 37s 4d; 2 at 26s lOd; -wethers: 62 at 44s 4d; 31 at 45s 4d; 13 at 40s lOd; 4 at 44s 4d; 6 at 43s 7d; ewes: 21 at 37s lOd; 8 at 30s lOd; 3 at 24s lOd; 16 at 26s 7d; 16 at 16s lOd; 7 at 15s 4d.

Store Sheep Ewe lambs were in better supply in a fairly large offering of store sheep and considering the mixed quality prices were inclined tto strengthen. Wether lambs were also on offer in good numbers and with keen competition practicaliy everything was sold under the hammer. Two or three lines of 2-th wethers were penned but these were not carrying the size or condition to command the prices reported at outside saies. Mated Ewes There was a good offering of medium quality .mated ewes for which the deinand was very firm. Fat Cattle Ex dairy cows, catalogued as fats, sold at follows: £7, £7 10s, £7 17s 6d, £8 16s, £8 17s 6d, £9 12s 6d, £10 5s to £15. Station Cattle Although the offering of station cattle did not make any general appeal, oue or two lines commanded attention, particularly a line of 19 4-yr A.A.-cross bullocks .carrying some condition. These were from the hill country and were big boned cattle with age and requiring imishing. They sold at £19. Other lines did not experience very much competition and although the market was inclined to be a shade or two iirmer in the enquiry, many of the pens of young cattle were passed in. Hereford steers of the three-off types, sold aecording to condition and size hs fbllows: 14 at £16 5s; 30 at £15 9s; 37 at £15; others at £13 10s. A pen of 25. A.A. 18-mths st'eers sold at £10 5s. Only two pens of f emale cattle were sold, 10 A.A. cows at £10 14s and 16 3-yr heifers at £10 17s. Dairy Cattle Offerings in dairy cattle section were very small and prices were related to the quality of the cattle. The saies were: Spg. heifers £10; heifer in milk £10; spg. cows £15; wnr. heifers £4 18s, £5 7s to £7 12s 6d. Store Cattle A fairly large selection of boner cows came under the hamn\er to meet with iirm competition with prices as follows: cows: £4 10s, £5 15s, £5 17s 6d, £6 5s, £6 15s, £7 10s, £7 17s 6d, £8, £8 6s, £8 13s, £9, £9 10s to £10 ls; empty heifers: £4 10s to £8 17s 6d; bull: £10 10s.
