The Full Cpurt of Appeal gkve jud^; ment today ih the casfe e'dncernlhg preference of the Minister of Railways v. the Hawke \s Bay Motor Co:, hedrd bii Septfember 24, 1948; and relatin^; to tlie preference of the New Zealand Railways Road Servicfe over pi'ivate trhns port companies to be granted licences to op'erate h'ew passenger tfansport services. - ' The CouTt held that the preference bf the Minister of Railways extended only to rdutes over the whole of which there was no existing trans^ort ser vices, and did not extend to roiites in which part was already covered by au existing transport service.
