Annual Meeting Of Labour Party
The Shannon branch .of the New Zealand Labour Party heM its annuai general meeting in Laurvig's Hall recently, when the president, . Mr. S. Morrison,, presided over a good attendance of members. The secretary, Mrs. M. A. Pedersen, presented the balance sheet, which showed the branch to be in a good financial position. Several 'letters were received and these were fully discussed by the meeting. The following officers were elect-ed-for the coming year; — President: Mr. S. Morrison; vice-president: Mr. R. S. Downes; secretary^ Mrs. M. -A. Pedersen; delegates to the Manawaru L.R.C.: Messrs. R. K Downes, S. Morrison and M. Parr and Mrs. Pedersen; executive committee: Messrs. S. Morrison, R. S. Downes, R. E. Downes, Mesdames M. A. Pedersen, R. Roberts and W. Picard. Two new members were approved of and welcomed to the meeting. With regard to the notificacion of branch meetings, a visitor from Wellington put forward a scheme adopted by the branch to which he belonged. Following a discussion it was left in the hands of the executive committee to deal with the matter.
