AUCKLAND, March 23. Beef and lambs were penned in average numbers at the Westfield stock uiarkets. There was a steady demand for beef. with all classes selling at la-te quotations, and lambs sold readily, values being very firm. There was less \

than the average supply of sheep for which there was a ready t demand and values improved slightly over last week's sale. There was a good yarding of calves with a steady demand for good quality runners and vealers, but values generally were a littie easier. Pigs were yarded in good numbers. Quotations for all fats were very firm.
