WELLINGTON, March 22. The Wellington police broadcast a message tonight asking for information about the yacht Matatua which left Auckland on March 12 for, Wellington. She carries a crew of five under the conimand of Mr. T. Ham-. mond, a young" Auckland yaehtsman, wio sailed the Ghost in the recent Tasman race from Sydney. . : A yacht like the Matatua vya.s seenTrom Castlepoint lighthouse at.9.30 on the morning of Mareh 17. Later that day a yacht was again seen about 30; miles' further south and still, "headipg in a southerly direetion. The police message said since then she has. not( been reported. 1 The vessel, which is 36 feet-long, is painted white and has one mast. She ■carried provisions for 15 days and .fuel fors35 hours. The Matatua has a iadio receiver but no transmitter.
