Churchill Still Holds Party Leadership
Received Tuesday, 8.50 p.m. • LONDON, March 22. An address given by Mr. Churchill to the adopted candidates of the Con servative Party last week before he sailed for America was private, but as usual in these cases certain facts appear ro have "teaked out." Whether they were inspired or not is a matter of ^u'esswork. The speeuiations for what they are worth are: That he promised a restatement of policy in May which may be a preeis of the charters already issued. The full Gonservative pro-, p'anime will not be announced until immediately prior to the general election. Regarding his Ieadership of the part^ ibout which there have recently been nauy rumours and criticisms, it is Uated that Mr. Churchill is against any change, that his views have been accepted by the rank and flle who now regard him with " critieal appreciation" rather than e adoration. " It is aliO stated that he was encouraging and hopeful about defbhting the Labour Government.
