Young Athletes In Action
The athletic stars- of tomorrow were seen in action o'n the Shannon domain last Friday afternoon, when the annual sports meeting of the Shannon School -was held. The youngsters Spent a most enjoyable afternoon and keen competition resulted in some very exciting .flnishes. Those pupils not competmg in the event under way voiced their feelings very strongly for their favourite. .There was a fair attendance of parents and others interes.ted. Members of the Shannon Amateur Athletic and 'Cycling Cluh assisted the teachers as officials, and the headmaster, Mr. F. vO. Burtt, expressed the thanks of the school for their kind assistance.
