Tasman Beach Institute's Annual Meeting
The monthly meeting of _ the Tasman Beach Women's Institute was held in the Beach Hall on Tuesday last, when Mrs. McComville presided And welcomed all? members and one new member, with a special welcome to Mrs. Clark, of the Southern Wellington Federation, who was present to conduct the annual mejeting. There ;were numerous apologies. Mrs. W. Percival -gave a very interesting demon^tration on hat making and Mrs. Clark showed how to make cellophane baskets. The demonstrations were enjoyed by all. The president then presented •shoulder sprays and posies to Mesdames Clark, Percival, Duncan, Ross and Evans, and Miss Fogden, while Mrs. Duncan presented a shoulder .spray to Mrs. McConville. The dainty flowers were the work of Mesdames Duncan and Evans. Competitions were won by Mesdames Smith and Ross. This brought the usual meeting to a close and Mrs. Clark then took the chair to conduct the annual j meeting. She expressed pleasure at being present/ although she was sorry there was no election. The secretary, Miss P. Fogden, then Iread the annual report, which was adopted. Mrs. R. Duncan, treasurer, read the financial statement, ; which was -also adopted. •MrS. Clark then spoke on the ■affairs of the institute and expressed her pleasure at the progress made. In conclusion, the speaker
wished the committee continued success, and congratulated Mrs. McConville on retaining her position as president. On behalf of members, Mrs. McConville thanked | Mrs. Clark for the many useful and valuable hints given, and moved a vote of appreciation. a very aamty afternoon tea wa£ dispensed by the hostesses.
