Shannon W.I. Holds Annual Meeting

: The annial meeting of the Shannon Women's Institute was held last week. Mrs. Bond (Tokomaru)^ was the " f ederatioh reptesentativ6. Notth, was passed in silence. . . , ; k, ; The president . reported ,that /a large parcel of soap had been sent to the newly-appointe'd English link of Devon and another parcel to the institute at Solam. The' secretary gave a full report on the year's work and members spoke in appreciation of her efforts. The treasurer (Mrs. C. Stern) Was also' thanked and :congratulated on the balance-sheet, which showed a reasonable credit. The following committee were elected: Mesdames C. Pedersen, W. Radford, D. Rdberts, T. Bell, Tricker, A. M. August, M. Parr„ Swindlehurst, R. Lester, J; Easton, C. Stern, Thorne and A. Richards. An election was held for a position df pre'sident and resulted in Mrs. D. A.' Mrs. Bond congratulated the committee and members on their successful year and wished the incoming officers every success. Mr».
