IHAKARA'S NEW OFFICERS

Owing to counter-attractions, the March meeting of the ' Ihakara Women's Institute was poorly attended. iMrs. Butt presided and apologies were received from Mesdames Horn and Hibble. A gift parcel from the institute's link in England, the Hatfield-Hyde W.I., was on display and it contained a wide choice of articles. On account of the majority of attraetions 'being held on Saturdays, members discussed the institute's meeting day. Members are to be circularised and a vote taken at the next meeting on the proposal tc change the day. When the general meeting hac concluded, Mrs, Jensen, of the south Wellington Federation, conducted the annual meeting. The annual report showed that the6 institute had made good progres: after a very busy year. Among other things, enough ffioney hao been raised to donate an electric urn to the liall society.
