N.Z. Doctor's Heroism In Japanese Camp

LONDON, March 16. It is officially announced that the O.B.E. (Civil Division) has been award ed to a New Zealand er, Dr. Hugh Mc Entyre, formerly osteopath radiologisi ot Singapore, for services to fellow Lnternees in Japanese camps. A fellow prisouer in the Changi camp said: "Dr.' Mclntyre improvised a rough and ready clinic and treated many oldc prisoners snfCering from rheumatism through sleeping on concrete floors. Ho was one of the prisoners tortured whor. the Japanese thought the sinking of Japanese ships in Singapore harbour had resnlted from information sent out by prisoners on a secret radio."
