Watersiders' Ultimatum Over Transport Of Btttter

Press Association).

(Per

WHANGAREI, March 17. . As a result of the sea and rail transport of butter to Auckland having been stopped, the Whangarei and Maungatapere Dairy Companies have made use of road transport. This has led to the delivery of an ultimatum by local watersiders that if the transport of butter by road is continued, the dairy companies and transport firms, and all who do business with them, will be boycotted by the watersiders. The dairy companies have telegraphed the Prim-e Minister that butter held up for a week is deteriorating. Immediate and strong action is urged on the-" Government.
