New Greyhound Racing Club For Otaki

A very successful meeting, convened by Mrs. e." L. Brunell, was held in the Commercial Gardeners' rooms on Monday night, for the purpose of forming a greyhound C$5&-ih Otaki. *• The ehairman for the evening was Mr. -J. L It was agreed that the club be known as tne Otaki-Rahui Greyhound Racing Club, and that . the colours of its flag be red and b.'ue. Mr. R. Collis reported to the meeting that an engine for the use of the club had been kindly donated by'Messrs. Moffatt and Blake. | Membership fees were flxed at 5s ifor men and 2s 6d for ladies. I The membership was reported as totalling 15 prior to the meeting and it was decided to have membership cards printed, thereby implementing the funds of the newly-formed club by inviting all persons interested to join. The club is hopeful of holding its first meeting in May, and donations are to be invited. Tnese may be made to the secretary. Members were of the opinion that every effort should be made to ensure a very successful introductory meeting. ■ As reported earlier, there are some ten or more dogs owned locally, and following the meeting orders were placed for more. It was agreed that everything pointed to the club meeting with a fair measure of success.
