A'dvisory Committee on Monday night. • All three students of the sixth ' form who sat the special bursaries examination in December had been awarded bursaries, he commented. They were; Nola Gordon, Robert Bennett and Brian Gunnirig. Ofj the college's ojd pupils, the follow- 1 ing had dchieved vacademic distinctions:' Ranfurly .J&cOb (Veterinary Bursary), Dondld Tregurtha (Veterinary B'ursary ), Ray Lycette (Medical Bursary) and Alex Arcus (Kirk prize for the best student of his year in zoology). The annual swimming sports had been held recently. "The entries were four times as large as last year and an exeellent day's competition resulte'd. I have p'easure in' recording that', thanks to the work of Mr. Moriarty in physical education periods and- of Miss Chapman-Cohen and -Miss Strawbridge in- sports' periods, .the number of non-swimmers has been greatly reduced. Almost all the 142 non-swimmers at the beginning of the year who are physically fit have progressed sufficiently to swim a width of the baths."
