Prcliminary ligures disclose that the : voting yesterday on the question of liquor in the King Country, did not give the required 60 per cent. majority : in the case of the Maori poll. There i was an overwhelming majority for the wets in the European voting but a 60 per cent. majority at eaclx poll was re- ' quired. Figures were: — Maoris: For 1192, against 1328.
