1 At the Levin sale yesterday another short yarding of pigs cau£ed a further firming of values in the porker and tiacone'r market. 1 Wethers, althougn not in such large riUmbers is the1 previous Wefe'k, were again hard to quit,- the quality not being as good as that which has come forward at receri saies. Fat lambs, being. in short supply, met with a keen sale and sold at rates well above schedule. ■In the fat cattle section, vealers were again in good demand, as were. quality heifers, though unfinished heifers and cows did not meet with keen competition. A short yarding of ex-dairy cows caused a firming of prices in that section, while in the dairy and store sectibns heifers close to profit changed hands at recent market rates. Weaner Jersey heifers were hard to quit, biit exdairy store cows brought schedule rates. Buyers.showed a keener interest in the" store lambs yarded than at previous saies, while the breeding ewes were slower selling owing to the lateness of the seaSon. * The followlng is a range of prices realised: — Fat sheep: Prime ewes, 29s 7d to 36s ld; prime heavy wethers, 43s lOd to 44s 10d; prime do., 42s lOd to 43s 7d; prime woolly lambs, 37s lOd to 39s 4d; prime shorn lambs, 33s 7d to 34s ldi; unfinished woolly lambs, 27s 7d to 29s ld. Store sheep: Woolly wether lambs, 20s to 30s;- shorn wether lambs,- to 25s 9d; five and six year ewes (low condition), 22s 3d. Pigs: Prime porkers, £5 to £5 13S; mfedium do., £4 10s to £5; light do., £3 11s to £4 5s; unfinished do., £2 12s 6d to £3; prime baconers, £6 to £6 4s; medium do., £5 8s to £5 ,15s; weaners, 11s to 19s; slips, 23s to 25s; stores, 29s to 32s.
