NEW PL5TMOUTH, March 7. What is believed to be a record for a Russell landing of three striped marlin that struck baits simuitane--ously, was established by Mr. G-. Moxham, a Palmerston North train examiner, and his companion, Mr. L. Ennis, of Stratford. Mr. Moxham landed one fish and it took an hour and 10 mintues to get all three into the launch Alma Jean. Mr. F. Arlidge, who has had 27 years' experience in big game fishing off Russell, said it was the first time he had known three fish to be landed from simultaneous strikes. Enquiries made since by Mr. Ennis and others, have failed to bring to light any previous instance of a similar occurrence. All three fish were, above average. The one landed by Mr. Moxham was 3361b. and the others were slightly smaller.
