Received Sunday, 7 p.m. LONDON, March 5. • A typical defence argument in the trial of the 15 Protestaot pastors on charges of trea?oii gjid .egpionage wgs that of counsel for Georgi Cherpev wbo ,said the pastors were merely links in an iftternational Prptestant missiofiary moyement which was supported by the capitalists. "First eome missionaries, then traders and linally generals. " Counsel for Georgi Vassov told the eourt: "We have no need of gallows for people who will help establish socialism. The pastors are prodigal sons who wish to come home." Some defendants in statements plead ed for light sentenees. Sentences will be passed on March 8.
