WILL NOT BE GOVERNMENT CONTROLLED Next week you will vote on the proposal for legalised off-course betting recommended by the Royal Gaming Commission for adoption. It provides for the Racing and Trotting Confer'ences to set up an organisation to establish properly controlled Totalisator Offices throughout the Dominion. This organisation will operate free of Government control. Government offices definitely will not be- used. Off-course turnover also will be subject to this normal deduction, out of which will be met the cost of running the offcourse organisation. There- wiil be no charge to the investor.
