Local Sports Club Holds Successful Meeting

The twelfth annual meeting of the Shannon Sports Club was held in Messr-s. Moynih'an Bros.' paddock on Saturday, when ideal weather conditions attracted a large gathering of spectators and eompetitors from all parts of the distriet. Most of the children's events were complete'd in the morning and early afternoon, and at 2 p.m. the grand parade of all horses and riders competing in the sports marched past, headed by the HoroWhenua Rpe Band. The Easton Cup and miniature, which is the poi^ts prize for horse events, was won by Mr. B. O. Barber. The Simpson Challenge Cup 'for the challenge jump went to Mr. p: J. McErlean. The points prize donated by Mr. F. C. Peach was won by Allan Butt.
