AUCKLAND, Feb. 28. The Carpenters' Union has missed the most obvious and simple solution of the present situation, for the unioh to deeide to resume - normal work under award conditions and advise this association of their decision, said Mr. J. M. Whittaker, president of the Auckland .vlaster Buiiders ' Association. He was commenting on methods ot solving the building deadlock suggesfe l by Mr. Ii. Stanley, national secretary of the Carpenters' Union. ' ' There is no suggestion that the union executive or anyone else should lose face or conie cap in hand to this association, ' ' added Mr. Whittaker. "The correct solution is entirely in the hands of members of the union themselves and there need be no loss- oi' prestige if they decide to reverse their decision to adopt go-slow tactics, seemg that the Federation of Labour 's appli cation for a general wage order has been set down for hearing on March 15."
