Immigrant Nurses Quit Their Jobs
AUCKLAND, Feb. 28. Three assisted iminigrants-from Britaiu worked as nurse trainees for only live liours at the Middlemore Hospital recently and then refused to continue. ; A report before the Auckland Hospital Board tonight said that the trainees arrived on January 15 and were given 48 liours' leave to recover from their journey. After they reported again they completed live liours of duty. Next day they refused to carrv on and were sent to the National Service Department where arrangements were made for their transfer to factory work. Last June the board 's matron-in-cliief, Miss W. Delugar, reported that of 24 English iminigrants assigned to the Auckland Board for pupil nursing training since the previous August, 12
