A U CKLAN D, Feb. 28. The New Zealand open golf champion of 1946 and 1947 and runner-up in the amateur ehampionship last year, R. H. Glading, has been aceepted as a member of the Professional Golfers' Association without being required to f ulfil 'the normal requirement of six months' preliminary service. Glading 's applieation vvas accepted immediately because of club making and otlier duties he perfomed while employed as a youth by G. AV. Melvin, Hamilton professional. Glading wil'l now be eligible to eompete as a professional in the annual Victory tournament at the Titirangi Club^s course from May 11 to 14. He also intends to coinpete in a tournament to be promoted at the Kensington course, Sydney, from March 31 to April 2, . in vvhich the largest amount of prize money ever olfered in Australian golf, £2500, will be put up for eompetition. J-lading will take up his appointment as a professional and assiptant secretary to the Christchurch Golf Club on April 24.
