Johnsonian Dictum Now--Reversed
LONDON, Feb. 27. Official statistics reveal that the ot'ten quoted comment of Dr. Samuel Johnson, when he c-laimed that the noblest prospect any Scotsnian ever sees is the high road to England, 110 longer holds good. Last year 103,000 people erossed the border from the south, and only 9.8,000 Scots took the high road to England. Despito the fact .that 52,000 Scots went. overseas during the year, tlie population of Scotland reached the record figure of 5,169,000.
