Use Of Armed Aid Restored To Atlantic Pact

Received Friday, 10.55 p.m. NEW YORK, February 25. The nse of armed aid has been restored to the draft of the proposed North Atlantic Pact, aeeording to the New York Times? Washington correspondent, James Reston. The sense of the disputed article 110 w is: "That in the event of armed attack on one of them the signatories would assist each other in such ways, also it' necessary with armed force, as would seem desirable to defend the North Atlantic area. " Mr. Reston says the new draft is not as direct as the formerversion which wo.ujd have obliged the signatories to 'Hnke military or other action forthwith" in the event of an armed attack against one of the Pact members, but it does restore the reference to armed force which was recently eliminated at the suggestion of Senators Connally (Democrat) and Arthur Vandenberg (Republican). The Secretary o,f State (Mr, Degn Acheson) will eonsnit the Ambassadors of Britain,. Canada, France, the Netherland.% Belgium and Lnxembourg tomorrow on the. new version of the draft and submit it to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee next 'week when approval is Jikely. '
