Women's Institute Begins Year's Work

Wallington, G. M. .Kirk, K. Taylor and N. Radcliffe I arfe to stage jthe -display 'of arts and crafts in the exhibition at Levin next May. AU members are requested to do their utmost to provide suitable articles for display. ,The question of the annual garden party will be discussed at tne next meeting, as so many members are actively engaged at present in carnival activities. Mrs, A. E. Taylor reported on the packing of an overseas parcel and *9, letter from a grateful recipieht was rea'd'.- Mesdames Taylor and H. Nicolson once again volunteered- to send the next parcel. .A short report was.given by the secretary, Mrs. Radcliffe, of the display which' occupied two windows at the Horowhenua A. and P. show recently, and gratificat-ion was expressed that the exhibit was awarded a highly commended card. A member of an English institute foxwarded a copy of an institute journa]c and from this an interesting account was read of the opening of an institute -college in Den; man, giving members some idea of the enthusiasm f elt for the institute movement in Ehgland. The hostesses served a dainty afternoon Sea, followirig whicB members participated in a roll call, "How I 'met my husband." This caused much mefrimeht and brought the meeting to a happy conclusion.
