Thanks From Crete
Mrs. D. C. Taylor, of Rangiuru Roa'd, who for some months past has interested herself and many friends in the sending of clothing apparel to Crete, has received a letr ter of thanks from Mr. S. Trakakis, of Canea. It reads as ' follows:— "Accept please my warmesb thanks for your presents. It was really very kind of you to send these things to people unknown to you. May God bless you and reward all your interest an'd love bestowed on us. We wish also that your country be always happy and peacbful. My family consists of four persons, my wife, my son, my daughter and myself. Will you please excuse me if I ask you for a vroollen undercloth for my wife if possible. She suffers from rheuftiatism and that cloth will do her a lot of good, that's why I ask you. If you can 'manage to send it, I will be very thankful to you. "Our life in the -village is very hard. It is not at all like village life in your country. Still God helps us by giving us health to work. It is surely very hard to get the absolutely necessary things we need for life. My family and myself send you all our love and best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. '
