SCOUTS CONFER
May Join Horowhenua District Group At a recent meeting of the 'First Otaki Boy Scout Group committee, Mr. F. W. G. Rule, wno presided, suggested that the time might be . opportune for the - grjup to seek i peiinissio-n 10 transier from . the Wei ington, and join the Roro- : whenua group which comprises Shannon, Foxton and Levin. { i Support for tne suggestion was forthcoming, and the move is to be expiained to parents of scouts and cubs, af\er which the Dominion Council wiil be approached to consi'der the proposal. It is fe t that being a branch of the Welhngton Centre is not in the best in^ereats as Otaki is ]usi iar enough away to preciude the looa-. pack ironi taking any real part in any activity without having to do some costly travelling. Tuesday next is Founder s Day and scouts and cubs, together with their parents and anyone e^se interested, are to attend a Church parade at the Methodist Churca, at 11 a.m: on Sunday, and on Tuesday an evening function is being planned, when girl guides and tneir parents will attend with scouts and cubs and their parents and coinmittee members, to commemorate Ihe day.
