At a meeting of the Shannon R.S.A. held last Saturday night, considerable discussion took place on the re-introduction of capital ,p.gni$hment was repealed and that solved that the following motion be forwarde'd to N.Z.R.S.A. headquarters: "That this association views with alarm the increase in the incidents of murder and other crimes of violence since capital punishment was repealed and that the seeretary write to headquarters advising them of the Shannon branch's support in any move they can make in the appropriate quarters for having capital punishment re-introduced for murder."
