Ladies' Bowling Notes

On Tuesday, February 8, twelve members of the Levin Ladies' Bowling Club visited Otaki Ladies' Club, when a pleasant and successful one -day tournament was held. Players from Paraparaumu and Kilbirnie also took part. On the same day two rinks took part in the Manawatu Women's Bowling Centre tournament at Palmerston North. Mesdames Routley, Henderson, Forster and Stevens (s) won two games and Mesdames Nichols,

Lacey, Wickens and Gibson (s) won four games, t qualifying for post section play in which they were eliminated in the first game. During the past week Mrs. Rolfe (holder) was defe'ated by- Mrs. Long in a very interesting game for the Maple Leaf singles brooch. Playing for the Mary Ann singles brooch Mrs. Ward successfully defended a challenge from Mrs. H. Bowater.
