Messrs. Townsend and Paul, Ltd., ! fruit and produce merchants, -Wellington, report that during the past week. heavy suppiies of tomatoes have been arriving and values have accordingly eased. On the other hand choice peaches, plums and nectarines are in keen inquiry. Quinces made a showing last week, meeting with a good demand. Most lines of vegetables have been in heavy supply with values easy. There is a particularly strong j demand for all prime birds in the poultry sale and consignments are strong y recommended.
