Wool Prices Soar At Christchurch Sale

CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 16. Fine wool prices continued mer;rily on their way at the second ! Christchurch sale this morning, Merino reaching a new Christchurch record level of 82-id. Early and Dominion records are being established for Corriedale and h'alf-bred at 69|d. In each ,case all grades of fine .yypol are sold equally as well as at the first sale in December, the only recession being for cross breds and threequarterbreds which generally were about 3d 'to 4d a pound cheaper and in keeping with recent North Island values. The sale comprised 30,457 bales of mostly Canterbury Plains wool, with some from the foothills and a good showing of Marlborough ,aps. The wool generally was in good order.
